Introduction

This prototype was designed for the Teach for America placement personnel to effectively place the applicants to the various locations that are available to teach in. The overall placement is to ensure an overall applicant satisfaction. Each applicant fills out a preference sheet along with their general information. Each location is then ranked in order of preference, from 1-17 for the 17 locations.

Previously, the whole process was very time consuming as this process was done by hand. The classic assignment problem was then undertook to speed up the process by which this was done. Using a variation of this, we have created an application that places the applicants with an overall best satisfaction that is much faster than the handwritten process, along with a degree of flexibility.
