Reactions to Baking Soda (NaHCO3)
DO NOT EAT!
1. Obtain one slice of each of the following foods: lemon, tomato, celery, grapefruit, banana, orange, and apple. Lay them flat on paper towels, not in contact with one another.
2. Obtain a watch glass full of baking soda.
3. Sprinkle a small amount (a pinch) of baking soda on each slice.
4. Observe and record what occurs.
