Unspoken Forgiveness

Moonlight penetrated the darkness of the room. White skin illuminated under the soft light, moved across the floor. Silence was the only thing left in her wake. Her breathing was labored, and painfully slow. She reached the bed, and knelt beside it. He was oblivious to her presence. She knew she shouldn't, but she bent and kissed his forehead. Like throwing a pebble in a pond, he stirred and mumbled bits of his dreams to her. She smiled despite the pain in her chest and wondered if any of his dreams would touch her. She took his hand, and kissed his palm. She placed it on her neck, and ran it down her body. He murmured something that sounded like her name. She lifted herself, and sat on the edge of the bed. He tossed for a moment, then came awake with a start. He looked frightened, then bewildered, then happy. He reached for her, but she pulled back. He was obviously aggravated, but she didn't want this to be harder than it already was.

"I love you." She whispered into the night. He parted his lips as if to speak, but she placed her fingers over his mouth. He was warm…warm and so inviting. He began to kiss her hand, and a soft moan escaped her lips. She pulled away, and he followed. She couldn't force herself away, and after a few inches, she stopped, and received his kisses on her hand. He moved up her arm, and a tear fell down her face. He pulled himself up, and kissed the tear, then moved slowly from her cheek to her lips, she moved away, and he waited. He moved back towards her lips, and she couldn't pull away. His lips were salty with her tear, and warm. She sat there, trying to force herself to move away, but the sweetness, and tenderness of him enticed too strongly. Another tear rolled down her face. His hand came up, and wiped it away. His hungry lips continued on, and she couldn't stop herself from enjoying his sweet lips.

She felt her defenses deteriorating, and finally collapsed into him. He held her. She began to sob, and buried her face in his chest. He held her, and smoothed her hair. He lay back onto the bed, and pulled her with him. She lay on his chest, and cried, while listening to his heart beat under her.

"Thank you." Her voice was unstable. He smiled.
