Assistant Professor 2010-2013

Ph.D. 2009, Mathematical Sciences, Clemson University
M.S. 2006, Mathematical Sciences, Clemson University
B.S. 2003, Computer Science, Univ. of Maryland Baltimore County

Research Interests:
  • Multivariate Analysis and its applications in Genetics, Computer science, and Economics. Stochastic Processes, Kernel Smoothing, Time Series Analysis

Dr. Fisher does research in the properties and inference of covariance matrices in high dimensions (e.g., DNA microarray data). He is currently investigating hypothesis testing for an identity covariance matrix and testing for stationary in time-series analysis.

Prior to arriving at UMKC, he taught at Clemson University for 5 years, particularly Calculus and Statistics. From 2008 to 2009 he was the acting Software Administrator for the Center for Advanced Engineering Fibers and Films (CAEFF).
