I grew up in the St. Louis area and graduated from UMKC with a BS degree in Math (1980). Post graduation, I returned to St. Louis to start graduate school but that didn't work out. While in St. Louis, I took a lot of heat for being a Royals fan in the 1985 World Series. I worked for Sigma Chemical for five years, then joined Monsanto as a scientist in 1988.
I've had four employers the last 24 years without leaving the building: Monsanto, Searle, Pharmacia and now Pfizer. In Discovery and Pharmaceutical Sciences, we are working to bring new medicines to market for unmet medical needs.
While at UMKC, I met my wife, Sally, and we have three children. Over the past 12 years, I have had the privilege to teach 7th grade Parish School of Religion (PSR) at our church.
