My career has been at the University of Central Missouri from 1983 - 2014, currently as Chair of the Department of Mathematics, rising to the rank of Professor in 1997. In 2014 I am moving to Pace University in New York City.
I was the Missouri Director of the American Mathematics Competition 1999-2014, and chaired the MAA Missouri section in 2010. I continue as Coordinating Editor of the Missouri Journal of Mathematical Sciences since 2002, the solution editor for the College Mathematics Journal since 2004, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Inquiry-Based Learning in Mathematics since 2007, as well as being associate editor of two other journals.
In 2008 I won the MAA Missouri section Distinguished College/University Teaching Award, as well as the UCM College of Science and Technology Achievement Award. At UCM I also won the Byler Distinguished Faculty Award in 2002, the College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Faculty Award in 2001, and the College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Achievement Award in 1992.
