I got my undergraduate math degree from South Dakota State University (SDSU), and
entered the actuarial profession in 1986. I've worked for several companies, a
consulting firm, and currently own my own actuarial consulting firm. After
becoming an Associate in the Society of Actuaries, I pursued a master's degree
at UMKC, earning it in 2000.
I've served on the Math Advisory Board for SDSU, was the USA Director
of the Theory of Constraints for Education, received Montessori certification
for 3-6 and lower elementary ages, and have written numerous booklets on math,
science, history, Shakespeare, etc. I am an active member of KCATM (Kansas City Area Teachers of Mathematics), and
run the local =EQUALS= Club of Investigation and Discovery for students of all ages.
