I am working for TRAC (Training and Doctrine Command Analysis Center) for the
Army at Fort Leavenworth as an Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA). I am in
the second year of a two year internship, and will hopefully continue my
career here when my internship is up next June.
I recently completed a 14
week Army training course specific to the military application of the ORSA
skill set. I finished first in my class, and I got to spend an amazing
summer on the east coast with my family. I have been on some very
interesting studies and have really enjoyed applying what I've learned in the
real world environment. I have had the opportunity to travel quite a bit
with this position, and I've gotten to do and see a lot of really interesting
things. It is very satisfying to have a job serving the soldiers that
support our country, and I am very pleased to have this opportunity.
I have enrolled in the graduate program at K-State for an MS in
Operations Research, but I am in no hurry to finish. I am enjoying a bit of a
break after 9 years of school (and my kids are enjoying it as well)!
